Spring is here! And what does that mean? You can stop wearing your heavy winter perfumes and colognes, and break out the light citrus, fruity floral and aquatic scents. There are some new and some older perfumes and colognes that would be great for Spring 2010. They are very distinctive, confident, and approachable fragrances that will have your friends asking what you are wearing?
New launches this season include flankers Givenchy Play Summer Vibrations Cologne for men and Givenchy Very Irresistible Summer Vibrations Perfume for women. The Play Summer Vibrations is a combination of cilantro, citrus, sea spray and amyris wood. The Very Irresistible Summer Vibrations blends mandarin, blackcurrant, sea spray, rose and frangipani. Both are wonderful if you are looking for something that reminds you of a Mediterranean or tropical beach vacation. Both products are flankers, based on the very successful Givenchy Play and Givenchy Very Irresistible fragrances.
Other new launches for women include Paris by Balenciaga. This is a floral chypre that is soft, slightly watery and slightly powdery, with a focus on Balenciaga’s signature soft violet. The fragrance notes are bergamot, spices, pepper, violet, carnation, oakmoss, cedar, vetiver, patchouli, labdanum. Those who have worn Marc Jacob’s Daisy perfume may like this as a non-mainstream fragrance.
Looking for something more floral aquatic? Jennifer Lopez has a new flanker to the very successful Glow, which is called Blue Glow. Blue Glow s a marine, fruity floral perfume with mangosteen, Valencia orange, redcurrant blossom, water lily, vintage rose, vanilla orchid, shimmering water accord, cedar, mahogany wood, florymoss, and tonka bean.
For men looking for a woody aquatic citrus fragrance, Burberry Summer 2010 is a great option. It is fresh and sophisticated at the same time. Fragrance notes include yuzu leaves, mandarin, mint, juniper berry, thyme, driftwood, gorse, cedar, sandalwood, amber and musk.
Looking for something a with a green citrus focus? The new Gucci by Gucci Sport may work. This is an aromatic citrus cologne which combines grapefruit, mandarin, cypress, cardamom, juniper berry, fig, vetiver, ambrette and patchouli. If you like the spiciness of Gucci by Gucci but want something lighter, look no further.
What about the classics? There are so many fragrances to choose from these days, and sometimes it is overwhelming. If you are a little scared to try something new, reliable spring classics for women include Christian Dior Miss Dior Cherie EDP (gourmand chypre), DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom (floral), and Juicy Couture (fruity floral).
