I’ve been on this diet since last fall, so it’s safe to say that I’ve placed many orders with the company for monthly packages. One thing that I’ve learned over time and really appreciate is that there are always specials, deals, and / or free food offered with a monthly package. If you have more than just a few pounds to lose, I find this is the most convenient option too because you only have to worry about your food once per month and you don’t have to waste time (and sometimes gas) shopping around.
Buying Medifast Packages Versus Buying The Products Individually: You can buy medifast two ways. First, the company offers the foods for sale individually. I know a lot of people chose to buy the shakes or bars individually quite often. The price of the shakes is an average cost of around $15 for a box of 7. The bars are about $16 for a box of 7. In essence, this is over $2 per diet plan meal, much less than fast food and groceries, but you can do better if cost is your concern.
If you’re willing to buy your food by the month, you can get a women’s basic five plus one package (this is the most popular plan, you eat five of the meals per day) of 143 meals for around $299, which is about $2 per meal. I know what you’re thinking, “The individual shakes / bars also cost $2 per meal. What am I saving here?”
Taking Advantage Of Medifast Specials, Deals And Coupons: Well, you can actually save a lot, because medifast’s promotional discounts are only offered on the monthly packages, not on the individual products. The company often offers specials, deals, and coupon codes that will give you 1-2 weeks of meals free (depending on if you sign on for auto ship). At $2 per meal, these freebies really add up. According to my math, one week worth of free food is worth a little over $70. These specials are usually also applicable for the enhanced packages (that contain omega 3s for heart health) as well as the momentum packages (which contain the ingredients found in green tea to burn more calories and boost metabolism even more).
While most everything you read will tell you that this diet endorsed by Genie Francis (Laura from General Hospital) and Kristi Swanson (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) costs $8 – $10 per day, know that you can almost always do better than this by finding the deals and discount codes. To take advantage of them, you’ll need to enter the code at check out just before you submit your order (it’s at the bottom of the page and is clearly marked, usually as “current coupon / promo codes”). Once you enter the code, the next screen will show you where your free food has been added. As some webmasters make these available (they change frequently), you should never have to pay full price.
