Back when they were young, both Shredder (then Oroku Saki) and Splinter (then Hamato Yoshi) studied under the same sensei. Shredder then killed their sensei and framed Splinter.
They’ve been enemies from a young age because Shredder was jealous of Splinter and of the praise he recived from the sensei.
