When to get cleaning crew (new MARINE tank)?
I have my saltwater tank running for 2 weeks and I am starting to see a lot of yellow algae on my sand/live rock and glass.. I was wondering is my tank ready for a cleaning crew or should i wait longer?
If yes, can you please recommend me a cleaning crew?
its a 30gallon tank.. and I dont know how to remove all that yellow algae off the sand and rock… do i scrape the rock it with something? but what about the sand?
Turn the lights off.
I avoid hermit crabs, they don’t do a good job of eating the algae and they kill snails all the time. I would just get some snails.
You should refer to the link below for more information about snails, it will help you with determining how many you need for your tank. Just add a few, keep the lights in your tank off until the cycle is done, do a large water change, and you can turn the lights back on to your chosen schedule.
