How long should I wait to change my belly button ring?
I got my belly button pierced recently. I’ve been swimming in the ocean a lot and disinfecting the piercing twice a day with Savlon spray. I’ve also been moving the piercing around when disinfecting and when in the ocean (as told it was good to swim in the ocean for healing). I wonder how long I should wait to change the belly button ring, 6 months or longer?
Give it about 2 months, if it isn’t healed properly wait longer. The only thing is, what happened with mine was it still wasn’t healed, but because I hadn’t changed the original bar, after the swelling had gone down the bar was massively too long and because it kept catching on things it was actually stopping my piercing from healing. When I changed it to a shorter one my piercing began to heal.
Give it a couple of months, and if it isn’t healed by then, try changing it to a shorter one but make sure it’s made of surgical steel to prevent further infection or inflamation
