Stuffed Animal
The problem with soft toys is that they’re addictive. Take for example, large stuffed animals; once you have one, the likelihood is another will soon be keeping it company, and before you know it, a third will have joined the other two. Despite putting a cap on the spending, sometimes, when it comes to these soft, huggable creatures, you just can’t help yourself.
There is no denying that plush toys that are made to be larger than life, are an extravagance which are not always at price points everyone can afford. If you’re going to join the millions of others who ‘live and die’ by the stuffed animal world, however, you may find yourself somehow coming up with the money to buy The One you just can’t live without. Sometimes the adage is, if you have made the decision to become part of what the soft toy world has to offer, you simply have to go all out when choosing the next one that will be coming home with you. If that means you make ongoing ‘investments’ in extra large stuffed animals, so be it.
With the amount of money spent on antique gems, priceless pieces of art, or even pop culture memorabilia (Michael Jackson’s sequined glove, for example), why can’t that same money be spent on something cuddly like a stuffed toy? If you’re going to make that leap, why not go for the cream of the crop? The best of the best? All that to say, extra large stuffed animals fit the bill quite nicely. And let’s face it: the bigger the soft toy, the more to love and hug.
If you’re at a loss as to where to find these extra special stuffed toys, look no further than the world wide web. The Internet is teeming with shops just waiting for you browse through the wide array of plush dogs, lions, tigers, and giraffes – to name a few – it has to offer. The iconic teddy bear, of course, can also be found living amongst all of these other type of soft toys.
By definition, extra large stuffed animals are big, bulky and above average in size and shape. They vary is size, from heights of three and half feet to well over seven feet tall, with some even larger than that. These are ideal plush toys to play with and even ride on given their enormous size. Some extra large plush horses, for example, can withstand the weight of a 100 pound child, thanks to sturdy construction that can include internal wood frames, comfortable padding, and furniture style rolling coasters which make them easy to move around.
As toy collections go, they are never complete unless plush toys make up at least some of what has already been amassed. The larger they are, the more ‘uses’ you can find for them instead of having them spend all of their time on display; pillows can be fashioned out of these bulky, over-stuffed plush and they make outstanding items to decorate a room with. In the end, however, after taking one look at them, all you’ll want to do with your extra large stuffed animals, is snuggle up close.

Can anyone tell me how to sew on stuffed animal whiskers?
The whiskers on my son’s black cat stuffed animal came right out. They look like thick black plastic fishing line type material. There are 3 pieces knotted in the middle. It looks like it was pulled through the face so they would stick out of the cheeks. I have no idea how to get them back in. Any suggestions?
You won’t be able to get the same ones back in. They were done in a factory and not very well! They just poked them in, so eventually they fell out.
You may want to paint a little bit of fray check on the spots where the whiskers came out.
Thread a long length of embroidery thread onto a needle. Start it on one side and run it all the way through. Tie a knot next to the face on each side to anchor it. Do this as many times as you want for each pair of whiskers. Use some fabric stiffener from the craft store to make them stiff.
