Can you paint a picture of the financials of the US government on the scale of a Median American household?
Lets say the median American household makes about $31,000 per year AFTER taxes.
Put the government on the same scale and pretend that they’re an American household.
Compared to that $31,000:
How much are they spending?
How much debt do they have?
What’s their net worth (+ or – )
How much will their income change from year to year?
….any other data that would be interesting.
Thanks….I just thought that this would be an interesting way to look at the govermnent figures.
To figure the government’s annual income – we take the revenues and divide by number of households and it equates to the US Gov earning about $25,000 per year.
The government is spending about $27,500 which means the over spending is going on a credit card.
The government has about $75,000 in credit card debt.
The net worth is hard to calculate since they have no savings per se and no personal assets like a house or car. But of course land and equipment and stored gold could be sold, plus remember they own a printing press for money…so, really had to figure this.
The income goes up based on tax law changes, but spending seems to grow about 8-10% each year while income is more around 3-4% growth…yes a slow financial death.
