is this rare? is it vintage or antique?
I dont know alot about antiques and vintage, but I do know that this butter dish is pretty old.
I believe its made of brass. You can tell that over the years the brass has oxidized because it’s darker in spots.
I found it in a home that is now a historical site. I want to find out who made it and when. The only problem is that theres no trademark, no name, and no symbol on it. Nothing at all.
The only clue that I have is that the handle (knob used to lift) is shaped like a pineapple.
Can anyone tell me what company uses pineapples as a design?
This looks pretty old
and if you know anything about it or anywhere I can find something on it online, can you give me a link so that I can look it up for myself.(to compare)
It is almost impossible to tell anything about your dish. You should take it to a fine antique dealer in your area. They could at least get the ball rolling. They may be able to give you a general idea. They could tell you where you may be able to research it further. Good Luck!
