It’s been a while since adventure PC games feature werewolves as the main topic of its storyline. Most of the time the topic revolves on ghosts and vampires; therefore, it’s a breath of fresh air as we review today Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Curse of the Full Moon. The game definitely features wolves and their supernatural counterparts as you try to solve several mysterious murders while trying to keep your head intact in the process.
As always, you play as a detective summoned from the capitol to check upon several murders happening on a small and eerie city. There are reports flying around about werewolf sightings and your trail seems to support the idea that the werewolves and the murders are closely connected. Armed only with your trusty sleuthing skills, you’ll have to traverse the whole of the city and beyond as you try to uncover the absolute truth. Talk with the townsfolk and other characters you meet throughout your journey, and bring peace back to the little city before anyone else gets killed, including you.
The game feature standard adventure game play wherein you navigate through various scenarios while gathering clues and other inventory items. As always, inventory items can be used whenever they are needed to progress the story. And whenever you get stuck, keep in mind that all of your important discoveries and all the roadblocks you encounter are recorded in your handy dandy log book located at the bottom right of the screen. Check out the chapters you need to finish and track back once you have the proper inventory item you can use.
It’s not fully adventure though as most of the time, you have to keep your eyes peeled for gold sparkles on a particular area. This designated hidden object games where you have to find all the items in the list and be rewarded with an important inventory item afterward. Don’t worry though, I find the hidden object game play very convenient to play and I enjoyed it very much too as you have the ability to interact with the scene in order to find specially hidden items.
Like most adventure PC games, expect to backtrack a lot since inventory items are mostly located on another area. Good thing about this game, and I loved it by the way, is that you can have several objectives being done at the same time. For example, you can’t continue because of 2 roadblocks you encountered, try to solve one first depending on your current items, or if you’re able, explore another area and solve other problems there first. You see, it’s really up to you on how to tackle all of the puzzles, but of course, all paths converge on a single course as you go through further in the story.
And speaking of puzzles, there are lots of them to be solved mostly to unlock certain areas key to the mystery. I find the puzzle difficulty intermediate, but there are some that really stumps me flat as I just scratch my head in defeat. I don’t recommend using the “skip” button to instantly solve the puzzles, but it’s certainly a good thing that you have the option to do so.
Voice rendering is superb at the most. The only downside is the voice of the fortuneteller that seemed to be obviously reading a script. Graphics is beautifully dark and eerie, and while you’ll encounter many dead people as you continue the whole investigation, it’s not gross enough to make your stomach turn. The whole experience holds you in anticipation of what will happen next though, and that for me is a winner if adventure PC gaming is involved.

A man once told me that doing jigsaw puzzles can cure people who suffer from nervous problems?
I am suffering from panic and nervous conditions and cant find a cure. So this man i met once told me that doing jigsaw puzzles helped him a lot when he suffered depression and nervous problems and he thinks that doing jigsaws was the main reason why he finally managed to come out of his illness
Can you help me with some information on this?
It is possible, because doing puzzles puts the brain into a similar mode to meditation. You are calm and focused on a very simple task. Putting each piece in and then the other, not thinking about your problems, which gives your subconscious (which can work out any kind of mental issue) the chance to work. It would possibly be more directly effective to meditate, but in this modern world, with all its distractions, it is hard for a lot of people to do effectively. I hadn’t thought of using a jigsaw puzzle but I have helped others achieve meditation using similar techniques employing a task that engages enough of the brain to keep one from thinking the negative thoughts while doing a fairly repetitive action. This is the SAME way a mantra works. A mantra is a chant and it is just enough to keep the brain ‘thinking’ about that so you aren’t pondering all these negative things.
