What are those “pre-reading strategies” the teacher should use in the classroom?
What are those “pre-reading strategies” the teacher should use in the classroom to make the students better get it?
Make predictions from the title and pictures if there are any.
Talk to them about what they know before the reading. Brainstorm and make a web on the board or even just a list. You can also put them into small groups and ask them a simple question about an aspect of their lives that would apply to the story.
As they read they can make connections between what they know and what they have discovered from the reading.
Go over some vocabulary words that are essential to their understanding of the reading.
