Many of us have encountered this common problem: a favorite stuffed animal needs a little surgery to fix a tear and to prevent the stuffing from falling out. Maybe your child has a favorite plush toy that has been loved a bit too much and all of the dragging, squeezing, and playing has caused a tear in the fabric. You don’t want that cherished teddy to wind up looking like Frankenstein’s Bear! Here are some simple solutions for repairing virtually any stuffed toy and restoring them to their former glory!
Sewing
Sewing is not really all that complicated. Even beginners have the skill to enact basic repairs. Just thread the needle with a few feet’s worth of thread to make sure that the thread won’t run out halfway through your repair. Next, double the thread over and tie a knot at the end of your thread. You should now have two rows of thread and a knot at the far end, away from the needle itself. Starting on one side of the tear, push the needle through and then across so that it exits on the other side of the rip. Next, pull gently to unite the sides of the seam. Repeat in a crossways, diagonal stitch. Continue until the tear is closed. For the last stitch, pull the needle through the stitch and wrap the thread in on itself to reinforce the stitching. Tie the thread into a strong knot as close to the fabric as you can to hide the thread, then cut off any remaining thread.
Glueing
Use superglue (or any glue that works on fabric) to replace any plastic eyes or noses that may have fallen off your plush toy.
Fixing a beloved stuffed animal isn’t really that hard or time-consuming once you have a set of needles and a variety of thread. Soon, your child’s (or your own) favorite teddy can look as good as new!

Why does my chihuahua hold her favorite plush toy in her mouth and then use her paws to kneed ?
My 1 year old chihuahua loves one particular toy which she will hold in her mouth, sit on my lap (or floor) and then use her front paws as if she she were gently digging. Could this be a way to release tension or energy?
My Chi is 3yrs old and when I lie down on my side, she loves to lay down behind me and does that kneading thing on my back. I also feel her licking my shirt. She seems so content. I thought that maybe it reminds her of being close to her mom and siblings.
