What should I tell my friend when her son hit my daughter with a big lego block!?
I had my my B.F.F over with her little boy!!He is 4 like my daughter!!Me and Cathy were in the living room and all of a sudden my daughter Sadie ran in the room screaming and crying!! I bent down and asked her what had happened and she said Drewe hit me in the head with a lego block! Cathy said she better get going, so she said goodbye and left!! I was was very mad!! What should I tell her?
Well, it sounds like she is aware of her child’s hitting problem since she imediately got up and left; probably out of embarrassment.
Unless it becomes a very regular thing, I’d keep my mouth shut. It’s a super sensitive subject to critique your friend’s parents skills, and she’s likely to become very defensive and damage the relationship. Definitely explain to your daughter that it was wrong for him to hit, and good to tell you about it. If it happens again, and your friend continues to do nothing, figure out a way to say you’d prefer for the kids not to play together anymore until her son learns to not hit (4 years old is plenty old enough to not hit anymore), but that you like to still spend time with her for girl time or something.
She was in very bad form, though. She should’ve AT LEAST had her son apologize to your daughter. I’d be mad too, but think it over and pick your battles.
