Is John Cena deserving of holding the World Heavyweight Championship?
In my opinion, yes. Edge’s character is starting to get boring, he is starting to become overrated alhtough he is a good wrestler. What is he now, an 8 time world champion? JohN Cena is only 4 or 5, I say Cena does deserve it. Your thoughts?
Cena is deserving of a World Title because in just a few short years he has built himself up to be the most emotion-generating wrestler in the business. Everybody either wants to see him win or to see him get beat; nobody is indifferent about John Cena.
Because the WWE titles are based on “popularity” (getting big reactions from the fans) and merchandise sales, as opposed to just pure wrestling ability, Cena’s wrestling skills (or lack thereof) are irrelevant.
Cena has built himself into a performer everybody cares about (whether that’s to see him win or to see him lose, is irrelevant; what matters is everybody wants to see one or the other). Cena has earned his spot and his right to be World Champion. Fans will pay to see him. Whether that’s to retain or to lose that Title, people will pay to see him.
