Need Gundam Model Kit Help – Spray Painting Clear Flat Finish?
Should I just spray it over bare plastic? Or should I use sandpaper first then spray it.
I’m quite new to this so I’m asking. I wanted it over bare plastic because I’m not experienced with painting yet.
My model is: HGUC RX-0 Unicorn Gundam (Unicorn mode) 1/144.
I chose this one in particular because it doesn’t require painting at all. I just panel lined it grey and its ready.
What should I do?
Sanding can be seen optional unless you are getting rid of the small nubs that you cannot really get to with a hobby knife.I paint it normally over bare plastic.I only paint over after sanding when the sanding gets me an dissatisfaction like a little too much sanding and the plastic sort of turned a little white.I had a misfit piece and I had to sand it all the way to about 5mm.In the end I colored the piece its natural color of black.There are no problems with just applying it to the bare plastic.
HGUC RX-0 Unicorn Gundam (Unicorn mode) 1/144 has very simple articulation so I do not see the need to add colors to it.If you were modeling HGUC RX-0 Unicorn Gundam (Destroy mode) 1/144 that is a different story.
