Grateful Dead

What is consciousness? It is the ultimate internal authority within each of us as conscious beings. It is the individual and collective authority, individual first, that genuinely guides our lives to ultimate benefit when used right. This article is on how to use consciousness in a productive and genuinely creative way instead of a destructive or unproductive way. Indeed, honesty is as honesty does in every genuine sense and way. When it comes down to it, there is no other permanent way to live than to be productive and honest in all dealings. This article will detail my full position on this matter.
In life, there are only two authorities, the one inside you and the one outside you, and the only way to benefit yourself is to use the authority inside you, it will never sell you out, because you are acting for your own genuine best interest. When you follow the authority within, you know what you would do when put under pressure or calm. When you follow the “authority” outside of yourself, you do not know what you would do under pressure. To genuinely live for yourself, you must genuinely think for yourself. That means using your own consciousness to sell yourself well inside and out. Indeed, immorality is destructiveness and purely destructiveness. Productivity and value are not only synonymous with morality, they are morality.
Life is more than survival though, and more than mere existence. An amoeba or a single celled being can easily exist as a blob of unthinking protoplasm and on top of that survive better than some people, the same can be said for some forms of insect life and cockroaches. Listen, what makes a being superior is innate honesty in every genuine sense and way. Words and deeds must unify and integrate with reality. What better way than being honest is there to do that? None at all. Indeed, honesty is winning, dishonesty is losing.
Have you ever noticed that people who genuinely follow external “authority” instead of think for themselves end up in a self made irrational fog when they are under pressure? That is because when called upon to think for themselves and survive honestly: They default on the most basic concept, honesty. Yes, to use consciousness, all you have to do is be fully honest with yourself and all that is around you. Survival is survival, succumbing is succumbing. No matter what, reality is reality. Indeed, everyone wants to survive, but who wants to put out the effort? I can answer that question now: THe person that wants to put out the effort is the completely honest person. I did not say “perfect”, but I did mean honest. Honesty, not “perfection” is the ultimate criteria and requirement for genuine survival and thriving.
“Perfection” is a measuring stick, not a reality. What do I mean? Since change is a constant, there can be no consistently perfect conditions in any genuine way. So, there can be consistently honest conditions, but not consistently perfect conditions. For, honesty is as close as anyone can get to “perfection” in any genuine sense and way. For perfection is nothing more than the ultimate idea, honesty is the ultimate reality. So, I reiterate, all genuine authority is internal. All confidence games are external. What I am saying is the reality of the situation, right down to people expecting others to do their thinking for them. No, to use things right you must do your own thinking, reasoning, and live a life for yourself that you create for yourself. But, I am not saying “be solitary”, no. I am saying “live in reality to the fullest and best extent you can live in reality.” That does not involve being “solitary” does it? No, living in reality no matter what is the ultimate social experience even when contemplating and solitary. In fact, the only genuine antisocial behavior is destructive and nonproductive.
That’s it, there is no other criteria for antisocial behavior. Productive freedom and happiness are the genuine and inalienable rights of all conscious and sentient beings and people. Intelligence is the productive use of life. Dumbness is the destructive use of life. That simple, that concise, that real in every genuine way and sense.
My name is Joshua Clayton, I am a freelance writer based in Inglewood, California. I also write under a few pen-names and aliases, but Joshua Clayton is my real name, and I write by that for the most part now. I am a philosophical writer and objective thinker and honest action taker.
I also work at a senior center in Gardena, California as my day job, among other things, but primarily I am a writer. As a kid I did construction work with my Dad which taught me many things like plumbing, hard labor and electrical systems, and I took notes for my Dad’s home poker games at my Uncle Johnnie Gilmore’s house, so I have a lot of life experience, sure. But I went to Cal State Dominguez Hills College, UCLA, and El Camino Junior College and learned a lot, but never got around to getting a degree, just lots of money spent, good grades and some credits. So, here I am currently freelance writing and working at a senior center for a living.
But enough details of my life, what I do is not what I am. So here is what I enjoy, I enjoy reading, listening to music (everything from Beethoven, Strauss and Bach to The Meters, ELO and The Band and Dylan/Garcia and The Grateful Dead also, when they were the Grateful Dead. Well, as you can tell by SOME of the music I listen to, I am a very eclectic person. I am also a deep science fiction fan and as said before, a lover of books. If I were to go into everything it would take thousands of words and I only have about three hundred words here, of which I have used 290 of already. Well, I end here. Thanks. Joshua Clayton.
