What does the number mean inside of a vintage Skipper Barbie’s shoe?
My mom is currently trying to complete her vintage Barbie collection and has a few Skippers and Skooters. We noticed that inside of the original red shoes, there is a number. Also, on the butt of the dolls there is a number. Does anyone know if the numbers on the shoes and the doll are supposed to match? Also, does Skipper and Skooter have the same shoes from Japan? And the Skipper’s are all supposed to wear headbands, is there different headbands too (we noticed there was shiny silver and a dull brass and didn’t know if both were truly original)?
All of her Skippers are 1963 with the numbers on their bottoms 3,4,5, & 6 and their shoes all do not match one had a 5 & 15, 6 & 4 but all say Japan
I am not sure what the number is if you could list the number I will be glad to reference it for you. I have all of mine in a 50 years of Barbie display. but I do have a great online reference for you. this deals with the Skipper and Skooter clothes which is they call them japan shoes. I looked in the Slipper shoe I have her on some vintage dolls and they only have japan on the bottom, no numbers.
